No luck for any of us yesterday -- the roads were closed off at 10 a.m., so everybody had to go to work.
But I had to postpone my dentist appointment from yesterday 3 p.m. to Thursday 12 p.m., because it was impossible to leave the Embassy before 4 p.m. Still, that qualifies as luck, because I won't return to the office after the appointment, and so the long weekend will start half a day earlier.
It's probably a good thing that I'll be moving house soon, because the book- and DVD-shelves I have now are full to bursting, and I ordered more DVDs yesterday. I feel only slightly ashamed of myself, because I saved about € 150 (well, yes, I did spend about the same amount, but it was all special offers...).
I'd been lusting after Dr Who for a long time and now got series 1 - 3 (half price!), and the same is true for Sex and the City series 1 - 6. Quantum of Solace was a must, although not at half-price. I also ordered the BBC series Cranford (with Judy Dench, and half-price) and, erm, Shaun the Sheep.
*meeps*
Watched Aristocrats over the weekend. Lord Kildare's (Ben Daniels - mrrrraow!) foot fetishism is quite intriguing. Come to think of it, Ben Daniels would have made a good Lucius (though nobody beats Jason Isaacs of course)
The Ambassador is still in Istanbul (our foreign Minister is there on an official visit -- excellent plannning, really, to go there at the same time as Obama...) So everybody is being rather relaxed, and the atmosphere is one of calm serenity. Not much work to do.
