Well, that was a nice start into the New Year

So it just has to continue being nice, and everything's going to be just peachy.

Maybe it would be a good idea to get a few mortal sins done right away, so I give you Pride:

Fitting in nicely with the Pride theme, because I'm always proud of my critters when they pass the next milestone:

The very first time that Lola and Cornelius slept while actually touching. As milestones go, that was a big one.

And, because it's so appallingly cute:

Taken this morning -- after showering, I always throw the small towel into the wash basin after drying off my hair and face, and sometimes Cornelius takes advantage...

The weekend was a good one, Saturday being only slightly marred by tiredness and a bit of a hangover. We, i.e. the staff minus ambassador, made spiced wine on Friday after work. Everybody, including myself, was pretty shitfaced when we staggered out of the building around 7 p.m. (there also was Jägermeister involved. Don't ask), and I fell asleep around 8, only to wake up around 22.30. Of course I was wide awake and watched Six Feet Under till 2.30, so I wasn't exactly feeling fresh as a daisy when we played tennis at 9.

Thanks to a bit of a siesta in the afternoon, staying up till after midnight wasn't a problem, and Irene and I had a nice, quiet New Year's Eve with nice food and wine, watching the original version of Three Men and A Baby (which is lovely, very much unlike the US remake) and later on the fireworks.
Yesterday was spent in a leisurely fashion. Since I wanted Slavica to have the weekend off I went next door to take care of Alexandra's two cats, then watched the New Year's Concert, had a bit of a nap, did housewifely things, and treated myself to a couple more episodes of Six Feet Under.
It's with tv series as it is with books -- I try to limit myself to a certain amount of reading/watching per day, because I know how much I hate it when it's over and I'm getting kicked out of that particular universe, but in the end I find myself unable to withstand the urge to read/watch on.

Today I'll be at work only till 12, well shortly before 12, because I've got 5,5 hours left of a day I took off. So it's tennis from 12 to 2, and then I'll do some shopping -- I guess the supermarket will be open even though today is a holiday. If it isn't I'll have at least had an enjoyable walk.

A Happy New Year to everybody on the f-list!
