I did it, I did it, I did it!!!!
Dec. 6th, 2003 05:39 pmOoooh, I', so proud of myself. I finished painting the kitchen, and it looks gorgeous. Sunflower yellow walls with a royal-blue stripe. Yummy, yummy. No stains, no irregularities... Forgive me, everybody, for bragging so shamelessly, but this was the first time I tried my hand at this, thus defying the old family saying that I might be very bright but clumsy when it comes to things like sewing, painting etc.
I started at 9 a.m. and finished at 4 p.m. Competely knackered, but very happy.
Opera last night was wonderful. Although I didn't like the director's interpretation (Christine Mielitz isn't one of my favourites) the singers and conductor were excellent. The orchestra too, but as it's the Vienna Philharmonic, praise is almost redundant. I remember hearing Falk Struckmann in Milan, in R. Strauss's "Frau ohne Schatten", and he was great back then (3 or 4 years ago), but he has definitely improved. I wonder whether he's a pupil of Theo Adam--his technique strongly reminds of Adam.
Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, both opera and supper.
The rest of today will be dedicated to laziness, no writing, no sewing, just laziness.
