First impressions
Jan. 19th, 2004 12:10 pmOffice OK, but I'll have to move again towards the end of this week, as this is a temporary solution. My predecessor hasn't yet cleared his office, it looks like an intergalactic battlefield, and there's such a lot of private stuff mixed with work stuff that I can't do anything.
New boss seems quite OK. He does have an alcohol problem, though. Breath smelling of liquor at 9.30 a.m. Oh, well. He appears to be quite manageable, and that's more important than being sober.
Secretaries nice and efficient.
I'll have a short lunch break now, then finish the introductory round (head of dept., heads of sub-depts)
All in all, things are looking much better today than they were yesterday. The tristesse seems to be gone, at least for now. And there's lots of legal stuff for me to read, so no boredom. Just sore eyes.
