Happy but tired
Jan. 23rd, 2004 01:36 pmI'm using my lunch break to update, because I'm not sure I'll be able to keep my eyes open long enough to do it at home.
Work still makes me happy. There's such a lot to learn, and I'm only at the beginning, so the amount of time it takes me to successfully tackle a single file is obscene. But I love the sensation of slowly growing into my job.
The heating at my flat wasn't working properly, so the plumbers had to come yesterday (to locate the damage) and today (to mend it). Which meant getting up at 5.30, so as to be ready to receive them at 7.15. That's the reason why I'm so very tired today. Well, I can sleep in tomorrow and am looking forward to doing so.
What with all those major changes, I still haven't figured out my new writing rhythm, but suppose it will come with time. The itch in my fingers is relatively easily appeased by doing the occasional response to the marvellous challenges at
30minutefics, and the rest is going to somehow arrange itself. There's no haste or hurry, so my outlook on my writing-related future is quite serene.
Janine seems to have found a wonderful house for the summer holidays. We only have to persuade the people to allow us to take ze boyz along. It's got a pool, a jacuzzi, a sauna, a terrace and... well, it's marvellous. Yaaaayyyy! And the new boss said he doesn't have any holiday plans as of yet, so I can take mine whenever the house is available. Much better than a hotel.
