Questions, questions

I want to burn incense at my new doctor's feet. yesterday, I smoked ten cigarettes. Ten! My usual daily dose is 20-25. And I didn't feel bad, or feel I had to fight the urge--absolutely wonderful. The dream goal is getting down to five a day, but I'll tackle that slowly. I think I'll keep the acupuncture needles under glass and worship them every day.

Fic recs

First, one I discovered on my own: Mephistopheles, by TheGreyLady. Only four chapters so far, but truly excellent stuff. It starts out with Snape being given to Hermione by the MoM, as a kind of recompense for her and punishment for him, deprived of his wit and personality. With Harry and Ron's help, she brings him back to his old self and then... Well, see for yourselves. You won't regret it.

Second, a story campy_capybara recced some days ago: The Absinthe of Reason by mundungus42 (she's the author of 'The Trail of the Black Orchid'). A response to the Gryffindor Stud challenge, but high quality, just as was to be expected.
