Well, not only rambling. Because there's wonderful news: The promotion is 99,9% sure (0,01% go to the Powers That Be, out of mere superstition). It's going to happen in August, right after my holiday (three weeks this year, because I can only take a long holiday once a year, and am certainly going to need enough time to relax and regenerate my energies). I'm a very happy bunny right now, especially since all this is the result of hard work.

I'm looking forward to the 3-day weekend, although on Sunday and Monday I'll have to get up early. Janine and I want to go to the opera on 27 and 28 April (Tosca and Simon Boccanegra), and the ticket sale starts on 27 and 28 March. Supposing that not too many people are willig to ruin their Easter weekend by getting up at 6 and queuing from 7.30 to 9 a.m., I hope to be among the first and accordingly get prime tickets. Let's see.

Last Sunday (I think it was) I watched one of the worst films I've ever seen: Signs. OMG OMG so bad that it defies any language skills I might have. It was fun though, because I saw it together with Janine and Daniel (nephew), after preparing a delicious dinner of roast lamb, rosemary potatoes and ratatouille. So we kind of did a non-stop parody of the film while watching it - the only way to survive it without becoming totally sick, I think.

Hmmm...what else? Nothing much, I'm afraid. Spent a very pleasurable Wednesday afternoon with Mr. X (my mum called me on the cell phone when we had just entered my flat, before I'd switched the thing off, and I became acutely aware that there are situations when I really don't want to talk to my mum, much as I love her). I'm very much looking forward to the day he's going to return to Vienna (due to ministero-political intrigues, he's been temporarily transferred to another place), as things will be much easier then. Not least because our respective office buildings are at a distance of about 100m from each other.

Today seems to be a rather quiet day (*touches wood*) and so I'll indulge myself and have a longish lunch break, which will be dedicated to shopping. I'd completely forgotten that the ministry hasn't yet repaid me for my trips to Bucharest, Sofia and Cairo, and € 700 for Bucharest and Sofia have just arrived on my account, so I feel free to spend most of it. A jacket and some tops, probably.
