And the mystery has miraculously solved itself.
For almost 3 weeks, the night temperatures had been quite high - impossible to cover myself with anything whatsoever. I'd slept on top of the bedspread, in the thinnest and lightest cotton pyjamas available. (I'd have slept in the nude, but my apartment is on the ground floor, and I really don't want every passer-by to get a free-of-charge peep show)
Last night, the temperature went down to 17°, due to a strong northern wind, and it was possible to snuggle under the duvet and sleep without being bathed in sweat.
And, lo and behold, I woke up fresh as a daisy.
So it's all about having to sleep in a way I hate, and therefore not sleeping really well. Ok, I think I can handle that for 4 more weeks, because at the beginning of September, nights won't be so hot anymore.
Am very happy, because I don't really fancy going to the doctor.
