I've finally finished the beast. Finished it, polished it, re-written bits of it. Now I'm going to let it sit until I'm back from London, then another re-read, and then I'll send it off, and good riddance.

The news about Dumbledore being gay - personally I think JKR is trying to keep up the sales for as long a possible. Next time they're lagging, she'll come up with another bit of extra-canon information, perhaps about Slughorn sexually abusing poor Tommy Riddle? I don't really care one way or another, honestly.
What I don't like, is that JKR came out with DD's gayness *after* having called him a ruthless Machiavellian. Now that she has thoroughly deconstructed the image she'd built up over 6 books, *now* she surprises us with the news about Dumbly being gay? A gay headmaster, who was never shown to have a relationship with an adult, accused of having had an unnatural relationship with Harry? I wonder if that's how JKR sees gay people. Not every gay man is a pedophile, ma'am, or is that something you don't know or intentionally disregard?
Brunch today with the usual suspects + Jasmin's parents, who have come to visit. After that, coffee with our ex-1st secretary, who is in Ankara for the weekend. I'm curious what he's going to say about his new posting (Chisinau, capital of Moldova - go figure...)
Since the exchange fic is now finished, and I don't know what to do with my spare time anymore (well, not really, I haven't touched the piano in almost 2 months, and there's a stack of books I want to read, but anyway) - what about a pinch hit? *rubs hands*
