And, for the sheer amusement value, the translation of a message exchange between Madam Ambassador and yours truly:

Amb.: Our new monitor system does not light the side entrances and garden paths. Who made that decision?

Me: Dear Madam Ambassador, monitors are screens and thus not meant to cast light on anything. I'm afraid I don't quite understand your question.

Amb.: I meant that the side entrances and garden paths cannot be seen on the monitors.

Me: Dear madam Ambassador, this is probably due to the fact that no cameras are currently covering the side entrances and garden paths. 

We haven't got any further as of yet, but I'm already looking forward to continuing...
