Off to Austria
Nov. 28th, 2008 11:04 amThe flight leaves at 14.40, and I'll leave the Embassy shortly after noon.
The Ambassador is on the same flight (unbridled joy!! / not), so I asked everybody not to pray for the plane to crash today, as I'd be dead too. And ze boyz would be orphans, and we just can't have that.
On Monday I'm going to make the rounds at the Ministry, whingeing and whining to anybody who'll listen. And saying thank you of course, because they'll be sending me to Skopje.
My mother is enthusiastic, because I promised we'd be able to meet twice.
Also, I'll have to buy shoes (yessss) - there really isn't much of a coice in Ankara. Or rather there is, but shoes made in Turkey aren't something I'd wear willingly. And food tins for ze boyz. And some foodstuff for myself, such as cheese and bacon. And of course coffe, because you don't get decent coffe here and the indecent coffee costs twice as much as in Austria.
