And so we start to say goodbye...
Jan. 27th, 2009 01:26 pmDoris got the information today that she'll be leaving in April, for Cuba. She's very happy (understandably), because she'd applied for that posting at least five times and finally got it, very much against her own expectations. Logistics are going to be a bit tricky, because her mother will have to come to Ankara and stay with Tamara until she finishes school.
It's a strange but essentially wonderful feeling, knowing my friends are preparing to leave, but that we'll stay in contact and exchange news about all the exciting new places we'll spend the next years at.
I wrote to three moving companies today, asking for quotes, and the Turkish partner company of one of them will drop by tomorrow to view my flat. The appointment is for 9 - 9.30 a.m., so I'll be able to sleep longer, and the working day will be a few hours shorter, which is good.
And I took Friday off work, so there's a long weekend to look forward to. Right now, there's coffe, marzipan and little work to do, so not a bad day, all things considered.
