Feb. 12th, 2009 03:21 pmI got 9 hours sleep last night - went to bed at 9.30 p.m. and simply didn't set the alarm. The sniffles are still persisting, but after lots of sleep seem somehow more bearable.
Austrian Airlines announced yesterday that there won't be any more direct flights Ankara-Vienna as of 1 March. Which is a bit of a bugger, because I'll have to get ze boyz to Vienna on 31 May and started to panic, because I thought I'd have to go via Istanbul, which is a complete nightmare. But fortunately it was possible to rebook (without additional cost of course) for Ankara-Munich-Vienna. Total shit of course, since the trip is considerably longer, but changing planes at Munich is much better, mostly because I can talk to people there.
The only hitch is the extremely short interval between flights: arrival at Munich 6 p.m., departure at 6.30. Given that there will be crowds at border control, I'm not sure I'll catch the plane to Vienna.
But there's a plan B: either there's a later flight to Vienna, which would be acceptable, or, if there isn't one, I'll just cancel the flight and Janine will come to get me at the Munich airport and we'll go to Vienna by car. 4 Hours, but still better for ze boyz than having to spend the night at a hotel, which wouldn't be possible anyway, since I won't have any cat paraphernalia.
Doris finally got her official letter of transfer to Havannah. Believe me, travelling from Ankara to Havannah is a bitch. Fortunately she won't have to do it all in one go, because she'll stay in Vienna for about 10 days - necessary, because it's virtually impossible to buy anything in Cuba, and everything has to be bought in advance. She'll be leaving on 23 March already. Hopefully the replacement will arrive soon.
