Thanks to all of you who wished me a safe journey :-)

The taxi driver was... interesting. While the car was relatively new, the driver kept mumbling to himself excitedly whenever he dodged other cars by mere millmetres. Since that happened twice on the motorway, my adrenaline levels must've been quite impressive.

Otherwise, everything went well.

The weather in Vienna is bloody awful, just like it was in Ankara - cold, and it's snowing. But I packed enough warm things.

Had dinner last night with Janine and two mutual friends, and at my favourite restaurant too. It was absolutely divine, and I'm not even ashamed to say that I had porky things for starters and main course. And Austrian Riesling. And good company. All in all, a wonderful start.

Today I'm going to meet my mum, although I'm slightly preoccupied because of the snow. I wouldn't want her to break a leg because of me. Then again, she doesn't stay cooped up at home all the time, even when it snows, so leg-breaking is always a possibility. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and put her in a taxi afterwards. She'll protest, but I frankly don't care.
