First Macedonian language lesson on Monday! YAYYYYY! *dances*
Lessons will be held in English, so its a good thing I don't have problems with that. Learning a foreign language based on another foreign language will be a new experience. Teacher seems very competent -- I told him that I'm a horribly inquisitive student who always wants to know *why*, and he said he was happy about that.

The ministry has allotted € 300 for my language lessons, which will cover 2,5 months. OK with me, since the lessons aren't terribly expensive: € 10 for a 60-minute lesson, and I'll have two per week. That's just the right amount I think. More might get difficult because of work, and less is too little IMO.

Yesterday's buffet dinner was thoroughly enjoyable despite the lack of uniformed top totty. There was one extremely dishy black guy, but since the army boys had formed a tight group there was no chance of talking to him. So I spent the evening chatting to our police and development aid attachés. Stefan, the police guy, is a movie nerd, so I'll have somebody to go to the cinema with (apart from Irene of course, who arrives in 3 weeks, but she's not a big fan of action movies).

Plus, I've solved the cleaning problem: the lady who is going to be my permament cleaning lady is still working for Petra (the one who'll be replaced by Irene), but she'll be able to come on Saturdays till the end of July. Check. She'll be away in August, but her sister, who is the Embassy's cleaning lady, will come to my place, also on Saturdays. Check. And from September on Slavica is going to work for me permanently, 3 times a week for 6 hours. This means she can also do the shopping, and I won't have to worry about clothes being ironed only once a week. And ze boyz will have company during the day, which is also nice. 3 times a week is of course a luxury, given that it only costs me € 250 per month (I'm not being greedy here; the average salary in Macedonia for a 40-hour week is € 200 per month). But if luxury is available, why not enjoy it? Slavica wants to work for the Embassy, and her schedule leaves her plenty of time for another part-time job. So everybody is going to be happy.
