What a start...
May. 3rd, 2010 05:53 amCornelius woke me up at 4 by trying to puke on my pillow. I suppose I seriously traumatized ze poor boy by shoving him off the bed, but there ar certain limits even to my respect for his feline dignity. Managed to go back to sleep though, till he woke me at 5.15. by singing with the birds.
In a fit of if-I-can't-eat-less-let's-do-more-sports I made use of yesterday's beautiful weather and did tennis from 10 to 11, then 40 minutes running-and-walking between 11 and 12, and then more tennis, though it wasn't a full hour, because Irene did two bits of 10 min each. I was slathered in factor 30 sunscreen and didn't get burned, but boy was it hot. I guzzled 2,5 litres of water with a bit of juice in it during those 3 hours. After that we walked to the supermarket to do the grocery shopping. After arriving home I ate a bite and then went to have siesta in the shade on the east-facing balcony. Given how tired I was at the end of the second tennis lesson, running even a half-marathon will take a lot more training. Maybe next year. Still, considering I had a food-smoke-and-rakia hangover, I didnt do too badly.
Fun: when I took off my clothes to have a shower, my bra looked as if I'd accidentally emptied a salt shaker into it. And I could have done a peeling with the salt on my face, throat and shoulders.
Getting back to the birds: I've never heard birdsong in the dead of night, but here they -- not all but many of them -- sing in absolute darkness, when dawn is still far away. No crickets as of yet, so birdsong is the only sound. *loves Skopje*
