If you want a birthday drabble, just say the word.
(((((((bear hug))))))
Not that there is much to report, even though it was a good weekend.
Saturday was spent as planned, i.e. first tennis, then pool and after that the dancing lesson, and as I'd foreseen I fell asleep around 9 on the couch, because I was totally, thoroughly knackered.
And yesterday the temperature really, really dropped! *dances happy dance* It was so cool in the morning that I went to play tennis in knee-length pants instead of the usual shorts. It was windy, too, which is a bit awkward for playing, but nothing was able to dampen my enthusiasm. I'd planned on going running after tennis, but Saturday's Salsa had left me with slightly sore thigh muscles (poor old quadriceps), and so I merely had coffee at the club cafeteria and played with an utterly adorable kitten, which jumped up on my lap and went to sleep there. It's very difficult to be rational and tell myself that two boyz are more than enough, and a third cat would merely disrupt the peace and harmony (not to mention that I'd have to keep them apart for some weeks, in order to ascertain that kitten isn't ill). The knowledge that the people at the tennis club are very nice to the stray cats and feed them leftovers made leaving the little critter behind a bit easier. Being the responsible Mother Goddess I am, I stripped down to my underwear right at the door (inside) and went to wash my hands before greeting ze boyz. They're vaccined, but certain risks simply mustn't be taken.
The rest of the day was spent with M.A.S.H., mani-and pedicure and even a bit of siesta, and talking to Janine on Skype. I'd done a bit of grocery shopping after tennis, and thus was able to give in to my craving for potato-and-rucola salad with lots of olive oil and garlic. Yum!
Today is the good kind of Monday, i.e. no appointments, sunny but cool weather.
Boss is still in Greece. He tackled Mount Olympus successfully and ought to return tonight, barring any unforeseen/unforeseeable complications. Except for Charlie, who'll be on vacation till the 10th, everybody's back now from their holidays, tanned and full of energy. (Among them Jasna the Queen of Pain -- wouldn't have minded if she'd stayed away longer...)
In case anybody has been wondering, the driving lessons project has been shelved for the time being, not least because I'd have to choose between sports and learning how to drive, which pretty much decided the matter. So I'll start planning a trip to Ohrid with a driver. It's a shame, really (as my boss reminds me almost daily) that I haven't yet visited the place. It's going to be difficult in September, due to boss's long absence, so I might go together with Klaus, who's coming to visit from the 24th to 27th, or, if he doesn't feel like going, I'll have to leave it for October. Janine plans to visit anyway, so we could go together.
And that's it, folks. Now I'll go back to pretending I've got work to do.
