Sep. 19th, 2010 07:46 amStll, it fits perfectly. Not good, because I'm going to play tennis at 9 and having slept only 4 hrs usually doesn't make for a good performance. Maybe today will be an exception, but I have my doubts.
We met at 4 yesterday in front of the embassy and went off to Kosovo. Stefan's girlfriend Elisabeta came, too, so we were four. Due to incredibly obnoxious traffic -- lots of heavy vehicles, streets not really made for overtaking unless you have a death wish -- the trip took us 2,5 hrs, and we arrived at the KFOR camp just in time.
The Change of Command ceremony was ok. Nothing to write home about, but ok, and if I hadn't watched such a lot of M.A.S.H lately, I probably wouldn't have found the bellowed commands as snort-worthy as I did. Didn't snort though, but it was a close thing. Afterwards buffet dinner: great food, which was consumed in the company of some great Austrian guys, among them the OSCE ambassador in Pristina (an old friend from the ministry who's been seconded to the OSCE) and a judge currently working for EULEX. The whole accomanied by ogling some truly spectacular arses. There really is something to be said in favour of fatigues.
I was back home at 1 a.m., and since I'd been stupid enough to have a coffee after dinner, I didn't feel like sleeping until 3 a.m. Hence the dedness.
No plans for the afternoon, though, so there'll probably be a nice siesta.
Off to the shower now.
