Gym and tennis yesterday, in that order. I would lie if I claimed that my muscles aren't feeling it. Especially the arms, because I didn't do much running at the gym (just 30 min -- more wouldn't be a good idea before tennis) and concentrated on abs/lower back and arms. Pity, really, that 1) I hate swimming in indoor pools and 2) there aren't any in Skopje, i.e. none I would use. So there is a slight soreness in arms and shoulders today, but nothing that won't go away till tomorrow.
I really like the combination of intense sports in the morning, then siesta, and then going out in the evening.
It's so good to have Ursula back, and a shame that she'll be staying only this academic year. We went to see Sheherezade, which was as horrible as I'd expected, but oh, how wonderful it is to be with two friends, who can't stay serious either. The choreography was so awful in places that it was impossible to hold back the laughter. They'd come up with a rather hilarious story of the Sultan going off to war and the harem being invaded by strapping pirates, which resulted in general shagging, and then the Sultan comes back and everbody except him gets killed. The pirates had to do some especially strange combinations of steps, which prompted me to whisper in Ursula's ear, "Black Ahmet and his Epileptic Five", but then she got back at me by whispering that the head pirate looked like a cross between an Indian and Charles Lindbergh, which was true, because he was wearing leather trousers and a headband that looked exactly like goggles.
Afterwards we adjourned to a nearby restaurant for Macedonian starters (yum!), rakia and a bottle of red wine.
Ursula: Well, how's it going with Mr H?
Me: Nothing to write home about, really.
Ursula: Come on, tell!
Me: Well, pretty much nothing. We're playing tennis now, occasionally, but that's about it.
*insert story about last Wednesday's double disaster*
Ursula: So how does he look in shorts?
Me: Great legs!
Ursula: When are you going to play again?
Me: Tomorrow, actually.
Ursula, elbowing Irene: Let's go and watch!
Me: Join the queue. The ambassador might be there to watch us, too.
Irene: No, we really can't do that, you see, because...
Ursula: But the legs, Irene, the legs!!! You don't see good legs every day, you've got to look at them whenever you get an opportunity!

Am curious whether boss is really going to turn up. He rejected any allegations of tennis voyeurism and claimed that he was, after all, my superior, which means that watching us counts as supervision without even a trace of voyeurism. *pets boss*

Must not forget to take along tennis balls today -- I'm so used to Valentina or Elena having them anyway. But I dont' want a repetition of last Wednesday's dialogue "OMG I forgot the balls, have you guys got any?"and Mr H responding that he did, yes. I know I shouldn't feel the urge to snicker like a 13-year-old, but there you are.

Hugs and great weekends to all and sundry!
