When I said -- the day before yesterday, I think -- that I didn't want to fall for the bloody Greek, what I meant was of course that the last thing I need right now is falling for yet another man who isn't interested.
I'd like to reformulate: I wish we both were interested, so I could fall in love with Mr Perfect, and he with me, and we could live happily ever after. As things are, he isn't interested and neither am I, voice notwithstanding, but he's such a lovely guy that I wish etc.etc.
He is, in fact, so lovely that he ought to be declared an Honorary Woman.
On the other hand, maybe being so totally on the same wavelength would make a relationship quite boring? It's a possibility.
We did, however, have a great time, and it was one of the most shamelessly extended lunch breaks I've ever had. Not that shortening it would've been much use work-wise, because we had a bottle of red wine, and while not drunk or tipsy, I was certainly too tired afterwards to get any work done.
Conversation was about life, the universe and everything, with a strong emphasis on animals -- I believe I already mentioned that Stelios loves animals and takes in strays. His family has a house and grounds on the island of Aegina, and he goes there a lot. This year, in May, he took in two still-blind kittens somebody had abandoned in a box in a field, and took turns with his mother and sister feeding them with a bottle. One died, but he said the other one has become a magnificent cat girl, who is of course totally fixated on her three humans.
And he smokes.
And he has the same way of looking at things I have, i.e. down to earth, with a lot of common sense and interested in the human factor above all other things.
And he likes classical music. And food. And sports. And he judges people by the way they treat animals, employees and inferiors.
Do you see why he's Mr Perfect?

Mr Not-So-Perfect, i.e. Mr H, seems to have finally understood that answering text messages is a good thing.
I wrote him one this morning, wishing him a good trip and ordering him to recharge those batteries in Paris, and, lo and behold, he actually answered. o_O And not just "thanks".

Flight to Vienna was ok, if slightly delayed. It's so bloody cold here. And I forgot to pack gloves, and I think my "warm" clothes are not nearly warm enough. Instead of bemoaning this fact I'm going to use it as an excuse for shopping.
Tonight -- and very fortunately quite soon, at 7, because I'm HUNGRY -- there's dinner with Janine and two other friends.
Tomorrow, meeting [livejournal.com profile] gypaetus (YAYYYY!!!!), then gym (running impossible, way too cold and icy too), then meeting my mother, and then a quiet evening with Janine. I promised I'd cook, and we'll talk and talk and talk and maybe watch a movie.

My heart is aching to go home (i.e. Skopje), but the stay here will be surviveable. Still, I already made a tennis date for Wendesday afternoon with Valentina -- gotta give myself something to look forward to, apart from ze boyz and seeing black!Lola and my friends and...

Right. Time to do facade overhaul for dinner.
Have good weekends, everybody!
