Up again in the middle of the night
Dec. 15th, 2010 01:28 am...and quite enjoying it. I think I've simply had enough sleep, or maybe it's the old hormones again, or whatever.
Today, no yesterday (very confusing), the workout at the gym was quite simply fantastic. IMO it was a combination of 1) new running shoes, 2) lots of vitamins and proteins for lunch, and 3) no sports on Monday. Wow. I felt like I had wings and ran for a full hour -- of course I was sweating like a horse, but I could have gone on for another hour I think.
Then I made a pea-sweet corn-Brussels sprouts cream soup for dinner, which was delicious. I know it sounds strange because of the sprouts, but you have to boil them separately from the rest and add them when they're done. Light, warm and filling -- just what one needs on a cold winter day.
I've been up since around 0.30 and am not feeling tired, so I'll allow myself a bit of comfort food for the mind and soul and re-read
dickgloucester 's marvellous A Taxing Affair, or at least some of it.
Nighty-night!
