I don't know how you mothers do it. It's only the seventh day, and apart from lack of sleep and a certain tension nothing dramatic has happened, but I'm tired and headache-y. Cancelled today's appointment at the hairdresser's, because the mere thought of having to lie back with my neck on the edge of the basin gives me goose bumps. So it'll be next Wednesday.
Last night's feline achievement: all three of them in my bed, chasing a toy on a rod. No hissing or other unfriendly acts.
This morning's feline achievement: all three in the kitchen, Lola drinking, Cornelius eating, Lucius watching from on top of one of the cupboards. All quiet.

But I'm going to confiscate the tunnel -- about 1,5m long and 25cm diameter -- for the next few days. Lola loves it, but now we're at a stage where she thinks she can get ze boyz to play with her by randomly jumping at them out of the tunnel, and this leads to misunderstandings. Plus, I don't want her to meet one of ze boyz in the tunnel, at least not yet. That kind of games is for later, when they are really really relaxed around each other, and signals aren't misinterpreted anymore.

Tonight I'll lock Lola into her room (at least that's the plan), but for tomorrow I intend to give overnight freedom a try. Let's see how it goes; if there's trouble, or if I simply can't sleep because I'm too worried there might be trouble, she'll have to go back to prison. If that experiment is a success, I'll go running on Sunday and leave the Trio Infernal by themselves for about 2 hrs, as a prelude to complete freedom next week.

It's funny, really, how different Lola is, build-wise I mean. I can lift her with one hand, something I couldn't do with Lucius, even though he's slim and light, but her ribcage is much narrower. And she has the most wondrously silky fur, like a rabbit. The rabbit from Monty Python's Holy Grail, to be exact ;-) Disguised as a member of the Guild of Assassins. Sleek, black and dangerous, not to mention totally amoral -- she hisses at Lucius, sees me, and coos like a dove.
I borrowed the Embassy's camera, BTW (my cell phone's USB port seems to be broken), and am going to take lotses and lotses of piccies, some of which will find their way to this journal. So gird your loins, my darlings.
