Bald Boyz and fan fic
Aug. 20th, 2011 08:00 amZe poor boyz are again sporting bald patches on their backs; they're shedding like crazy because of the heat. Cornelius's is bigger than Lucius's, and I just can't resist stroking those spots, because the skin underneath is so baby-soft and pink.
Lola, OTOH, is magnificently furry and shiny black, but then she was born here, so maybe that makes a difference.
They're getting on quite well, my critters, which of course is a source of delight and contentment for their Mother Goddess.
Probably due to Deathly-Hallows-induced blah-nes, I re-read azraelgeffen's Objects of Desire (which is also on this week's quiz), and it was as incredibly good as I remembered it. (Even though reading something porn-y at work still makes me feel a bit strange...)
Pinar left Skopje yesterday for Berlin. She and Elena and I had a very nice if slightly tearful goodbye dinner on Wednesday. Pictures will be posted as soon as Elena sends them.
It got very late, and I was so tired on Thusday that I had to cancel Pilates -- felt bad about it, but really wasn't up to it.
Gerald, the new colleage, with whom we (i.e. Elena and I) played tennis for the first time on Monday, has put his back out doing something at home, and he's been on sick leave since Wednesday. This means no playing for at least another week, which is bad because he's really a good partner, and also because he enjoyed it a lot and would have liked to play again soon. But you can't play unless the back is 100% ok, so it'll have to wait.
It's still hellishly hot -- max tempatures hoveing close to 40° -- and if the forecast is correct, and I'm afraid it might be, the weather is going to main the same at least for another week. Body seems to be adjusting, though, and I'm sleeping quite well now. Plus, it's really dry (humidity uner 30%), so that makes it more bearable.
Boss will be on holiday starting on Tuesday and return on 7 or 8 September, leaving Madame and his daughter in Vienna -- the daughter has to start school, and Madame is of course staying with her, as she's only 13. Boss slightly preoccupied whetherthe dog will come back with him or stay in Vienna, but I think he'll take her back here with him. Nobody at the Embassy is afraid of dogs, so he can even take her to work if he feels she'd be too lonely at home. So long as she doesn't defecate next to the flag pole again...
OK, time to drag this sory old mortal coil up and towards tennis.
Have good weekends, everybody!
