Happy Rain Dance
Sep. 15th, 2011 08:43 amDue to persistent heat and my growing hate thereof the Internet Morning Ritual has recently changed from Austrian Radio -- Livejournal -- weatherforecast to Austrian Radio -- weatherforecast -- livejournal.
Imagine my squee of joy when I went to www.wetter.de this morning, looked up Skopje, and saw that it's going to rain next Tuesday! Rain! And a temperature drop of almost 15°, which is going to be slightly unpleasant but worth the migraine I'm probably going to get.
Oh, the bliss of rain and cool, fresh air. Apart from a migraine this also means that I'll have to sacrifice a few tennis lessons (balloons aren't up yet) and go to the gym instead, but who cares.
In other news, I'm going to Warsaw tomorrow to visit Gabriele. She already asked whether I had any plans for rampant sightseeing -- I told her no, I'd rather been planning to eat, drink, talk and play with her cats and dog. Plus a bit of shopping of course. I've been to Warsaw already, and even if I hadn't, what I want is to spend time with a dear friend without being dead on my feet. So shoppingness and lots of nice food and wine seem just the right thing.
Am halfway through the second part of A Storm of Swords. Definitely not a good place to be for the Stark family. Lit crush on Jaime growing. He's the only one I would have cast differently, from what I've seen of the TV Clips -- the actor they chose looks too much like Aragorn (Can't remember the actor's name, the one who played Aragorn I mean, for the life of me). Then again, whoever did the casting did very well with the Cersei - Jaime - Tyrion lookalikeness, so I'll forgive them for Jaime.
*is feeling slightly pathetic and embarrassed because of ASOIAF obsession*
In other other news, the diplomatic tennis tournament has been scheduled for 1 October. Bummer, because my right forearm has been playing up recently -- it's not full-blown tennis elbow but I've got to be *very* careful and treat it with ice every day -- and that's buggering up my serves. And if your serves are bad you lose, so I have more or less decided not to participate. It might be a moot point anyway, because Janine will be visiting from 30 September to 3 October, and when Janine comes it rains. Always. Sometimes it takes the weather a day or so to catch up, but since she's arriving on a Thursday and the tournament is on Saturday, it's bound to catch up.
Mood has improved exponentially, so here's cheery waves and hugs for everybody.
