Tired, and I brung it all on myself
Nov. 8th, 2011 08:41 am...because I couldn't stop watching "Brotherhood" -- lots and lots of delicious Jason Isaacs -- last night, and thus got only 5 hrs of sleep. I'd like the series even without Isaacs, because it's very good. Basically about the brothers Tom and Michael Caffee, both from an Irish neighbourhood on Rhode Island; Tom's an up-and-coming politician, and Mike (Isaacs) a ruthless gangster. Good characterization, plot just short of too complex, very interesting take on the intricacies of dirty politics, crime, and the Irish community.
Isaacs takes his shirt off a lot.
Just sayin'.
State Secretary's visit has been going well so far, and since he's going to leave for the Kosovo today at 3 p.m., I'm not expecting any disasters. Fortunately I don't have to attend the formal lunch, but will take the accompanying journalist plus one of the minions to lunch, for which I also recruited Stefanie. So that's going to be nice and relaxed, and the two meetings later this morning will have to be endured with equanimity.
Also, I have come to the conclusion that brother's probably-soon-to-be-ex-again partner is a cow. Not that I'd been in much doubt as to that, but yesterday's exchange of emails kinda cemented that belief. I'm going to be saintly, though, and not let her know what I'm thinking. Brother would be getting it in the neck for the next ten years, provided they'll stay together that long, which I strongly doubt. Of the many things I can't stand, her brand of irrational jealousy towards me, his sister, is very close to top of the list. *glares*
