Heavy snow this moring in Skopje, and I thought, Oh, goody, that means an extra hour at home, because there won't be any taxis...
Ha-bloody-ha.
The line wasn't busy, and a taxi was available within three minutes.
Skopje isn't quite the place it used to be. Bugger.
Lucius still suffering, poor critter.
I cancelled today's tennis lesson, both because I want to keep an eye on ze boy (or take him to the vet, if really necessary) and because I had to place a substantial order for groceries, unless I mean to have pasta with veggie sugo for the third night running. Which I don't.
I'm getting a bit fed up with A Song of Ice and Fire -- plot devices of the "person believed to be dead isn't really dead" kind are interesting once or twice, but it's happening with annoying regularity, and it's getting pretty old. Not to mention that in some cases it's not really necessary for plot development, so why overuse it?
Also, the totally mixed-up timeline is starting to annoy me a lot. I'm sure it's very difficult to write an epic with a gazillion story lines, but that ought to be the author's problem, not mine. GRRM is dumping it on the reader, which doesn't make him an especially good writer.
It's a blah kind of day today, but there might be a bit of shopping during lunch break.
