Miscellanea

I've done the unacceptable, unthinkable thing I'd never have thought I'd ever do: I wrote to the exchange mods, asking for a certain prompt. My only excuse -- as feeble as the coffe at the EU meetings -- is that my mind is teeming with dialogue, my fingers are twitching with the urge to write this story, and that I haven't felt this inspired in a long time.
Here's hoping for modly forgiveness.
On the plus side, I'm pretty sure I'd come up with something good for most of the prompts I've read so far, so not getting this particular one wouldn't mean the end of the world.

My appointment yesterday with the gynaecologist was cancelled -- one of the drawbacks when dealing with this particular category of specialists is that they're also obstetricians, and babies don't keep to schedules when they want out. *tuts*
Rescheduled for next Tuesday, but since it is important but not urgent, no harm done.

My brother, much as I love him, is a bit of an arsehole (I mean I know he is, but usually not with me): we'd agreed that he'd come to visit at the end of April/beginning of May; then he went to Australia to visit Daniel the Lovely Nephew, and right before his departure sent me a text message -- probably no visit, because his partner had taken the news so badly. He'd tell me more once he was back from Australia.
Ha-bloody-ha.
The next time I heard from him was three days ago -- no mention of the visit, no apology...
I'm going to write him a firm-but-friendly email, because that's not how you treat your sister, who *always* stands by you. He'll be appropriately contrite, and hopefully that'll lead to improvement. *tuts some more*

Hairdresser today at 11, then leisurely lunch with book.
