Only slightly whiny update
Dec. 13th, 2012 09:51 amMy bum hurts, and I've a very nice set of blossoming bruises courtesy of The Dog.
My right shoulder hurts from the rabies shot I got yesterday (surprisingly, neither of my hips hurts even though I got shots there, too, but I suppose that's because the tissue there is more fat and less muscle).
My left shoulder hurts because of the tetanus shot I got this morning.
Yesterday, remembering how sick I'd felt after getting my shots in Ankara, I did of course cancel tennis (Gorjan must have thought that I couldn't possibly find a more outlandish excuse than "bitten by dog, have to get rabies shot" -- the credibility coefficient isn't much higher than the dog having eaten the homework). Since I was feeling pretty well I went to the gym, though, keeping in mind that I shouldn't overtax myself. It wasn't so bad, except for my heart rate: where it would have been around 130 on a normal day, it shot up to 150. So I kept it very low-impact, careful not to go over 140. You never know, after all.
Then I went home and prepared some comfort food: (gluten-free) penne with broccoli and tuna.
Fell asleep on the couch around 9 and slept for 6hrs straight, then transferred self to bed where I slept another two.Not so bad, all things considered.
The heating saga is nearing its end, or so I hope. The plumber had announced his (hopefully) last visit for this morning, but called me 10 min ago to tell me he had to take somebody to the hospital and would come around 4p.m. Fine with me, at least I got a very relaxed, slow morning out of it -- going to get the tetanus shot took all of 30min.
So now I'll get dressed without undue haste and will go to work. Am determined to milk the dog incident for all it's worth. *grins evilly*
