How quickly doth the day go by
May. 6th, 2013 03:40 pm...when I'm for once moderately busy.
Since Gerald claimed, among his many other grievances, that he can't do all the work he's supposed to do, I took over part of it, at least for the time being, i.e. until he's finished updating our homepage.
So the working day has been a nice one, also because today is Orthodox Easter, and all is quiet and peaceful. Everybody is catching up on their work, there are next to no phone calls, and I'm almost enjoying myself.
The weather is being rather strange -- warm verging on sultry, storm brewing (and hopefully not going to break before I'm home). It's not terribly unpelasant, but obviously cats and other animals are not the only ones feeling slightly off when there's a storm coming. Still, since everything's closed today -- including the gym -- I have declared a no-sports day and am going to enjoy it. More so, as I've exercised a lot during the last days.
There are many reasons why May is one of my favourite months, but the many holidays are certainly one of them. The next one is May 9 (Ascension), and I have a day off on the 10th, so it's another long weekend! Then comes Pentecost (May 21) -- Irene and I are considering going to Greece if the weather forecast is good. Finally, another religious holiday (Corpus Christi) on May 30, and again I'm taking the 31st (Friday) off work, so I'll have another long weekend. I wouldn't go as far as claiming that I desperately need it, but OTOH the summer will be long and holiday-less, so I'm taking whatever I can get.
Oops, I can already hear thunder. Hopefully I won't have to wait out the worst of the rain at the Embassy...
