It's done!
May. 24th, 2013 02:34 pmThe first draft of the sshg promptfest fic is finished!
I printed it out and will do more editing during the weekend.
It was an interesting experience, because it was different. Usually, when a prompt inspires me or I get assaulted by a plot bunny, I write more or less without interruption (as far as possible). It just wants out, out, out, and I couldn't stop even if I wanted to.
This time, the prompt *did* inspire me, and I started pretty soon after it was assigned, but 1) I wrote almost exclusively at work, 2) not every day, and 3) there was an almost month-long break. It made me horribly insecure, since I'm not used to it, but OTOH it was completely different from 2010 (I think), when I had to drop out of the exchange because I just couldn't write. So whenever it popped into my mind, I was anxious, yes, but reasonably sure that I wasn't going to drop out. I just had this certainty that it would start flowing again, and do so in time, and besides I know that I can write 8.000 words a day if necessary.
So now I'm happy to have finished it, and fairly happy with the oeuvre as well.
Once I've sent it off, I'll start playing with the Lucius Big Bang bunny.
