...and order two comfy armchairs as well, plus one footstool. And two very nice lamps.
I don't quite see why a) I ought to spend a few days in Vienna without being able to sit somewhere comfortably, b) I ought to go to the trouble of buying the stuff myself, if there are people both able and willing to do it, provided I pay them.
The armchairs I have currently will remain in Skopje, first for Gabriele, and then they'll go to Snezana (the masseuse), who is happy to get them.
Shopping list has been sent off to Janine, so she can take her time and plan -- it's not overly much, and -- surprise, surprise! -- mostly for the critters. But they do need toilets and stuff, and I don't want to take their old ones to Vienna in the car. I'll take their blankets and a few toys, for comfort, so they have something that smells familiar, but on the whole they will be exploring new territory together, which ought further to improve the dynamics of the trio.
The car boot will be pretty full, anyway -- pillows, duvet, sheets, some clothes, toiletries etc., a few small kitchen utensils which I have already, need in Vienna but don't want to duplicate (I mean you only need one big and one small French coffe press, right?).
I must say that choosing new furniture considerably brightens up the prospect of moving.
Besides, not *everything* has been removed from my Viennese flat -- there is residual cutlery, as far as I know, and glasses and plates etc. (Janine's going to check). Taking that into account, plus the bed, rug, armchairs and lamps, it will be quite comfy enough for the four days or so I'm going to be there. And when I return after the packing day here in Skopje, my stuff will arrive shortly after me, I'd say on the 23rd. Which means a truly exhausting and horrible day of unpacking (not to mention having to lock the critters into the bathroom and kitchen respectively -- all three in one small room doesn't seem like a good idea, changed dynamics or not) -- but, hey, enormous wardrobe, i.e. no wibbling about where to put things.
Besides, there's the rather nice prospect of finding a place where I can do fencing classes (a long-cherished dream about to come true because I'm finally fit enough), and maybe I'll also start again with kick-boxing (idem, finally fit enough). Not to forget that, between unpacking and the end of my holiday, there's still a whole week for buying a few things, relaxing and getting comfy.
Come to think of it, the only *truly* horrible part is the trip to Vienna by car. Even though I know rationally, that there won't be any trouble at the borders regarding the critters, I can't help feeling queasy. Add to that that ten or eleven hours sitting in a car is absolute torture for me -- on account of my slightly higher right hip, which makes my lower back ache something awful after maybe two hours -- and you can imagine how much I'm looking forward to it. Janine will make me an appointment for a massage on the following day, though, so I expect to survive.

And, last but not least: Slavica is baaaaack! OMG I'm going to come home today to an absolutely clean flat containing three happy critters, two of whom will have been brushed to their hearts' content.
