Aug. 14th, 2013 09:50 amIt seems that I've finally got myself sufficiently organized, so I'm not late every day for work. It's a bit of a tight squeeze in the mornings, because Rambo needs time and attention, and so do the other three Critters, but I'm getting there. Waking up shortly past 4 a.m. certainly helped. Still, long weekend starts tomorrow, which is a relief in many ways.
Also, I've found the best way to deal with increased cat population. Rambo is decidedly happier if the door to his room remains closed while I'm asleep, and so are the other three -- what I thought they might regard as less freedom obviously means more safety and, consequently, a better mood all around.
Since the three adults (mostly ze boyz, though) have obviously overcome their initial shock and are showing more interest in Rambo, I have to set apart quite a large amount of time for supervising the encounters. So far, nothing alarming has happened, also (I think) because I'm trying to let the adults observe Rambo while he's absorbed in his playing. He doesn't notcie them, and consequently doesn't go into attack mode, and they can watch him without feeling threatened.
Yesterday Cornelius was sitting on the guest bed while I was playing with Rambo; at one time, kitteh climbed up on the bed. There was a bit of bristling, but not much, and then Rambo lounged at Cornelius and promptly got himself a slap. This is actually a good thing, because it's the only way he'll learn to behave himself.
Work is moderately busy; now is the perfect time to get some stuff done, which I don't want to leave to Gabriele.
New colleague continues to get up my nose -- nothing bad, but I hate being interrupted with wrong assumptions while I'm trying to explain something. If you don't know something, and ask me about it, then for heaven's sake shut up and listen. My explanations are neither muddled, nor long-winded.
Pilates -- now I'm having single lessons, because Irene's gone -- was fantastic yesterday; we're using the big ball and light weights (0,75 kg), which doesn't seem like a lot but certainly makes exercises for abs, sides and back a lot more... interesting; the added leverage of 1,5 kg held in outstretched arms is considerable. My love handles are melting so fast I can almost watch them shrinking -- combined effect of sports, little time for eating, hot weather, and less alcohol because I don't want to fall asleep at night before locking Rambo safely in his room.
On today's to-do list: write to Lucius Big Bang mods and make my apologies, for I have to drop out. What I've got fits in a thimble, and I won't have time in the foreseeable future to get any writing done. Once I'm back in Vienna and everything's settled, though, I might continue, because I quite like the idea.
ETA: I think I've figured it out. New Colleague is just plain stupid. Strange how long it always takes me to realize that...
2nd ETA, in the spirit of WTF?????: can you imagine that somebody spends four years in Bulgaria, and four in Ukraine, and can't read Cyrillic???? I'm not even talking about speaking the language, but READING THE FUCKING LETTERS. Oh, and his wife is Bulagrian, too. *headdesk*
