Smugger than smug
Sep. 13th, 2003 12:29 pmThat's how I'm feeling. Just soooooo smug. Because I finally changed the style of my LJ. Yes,
kalinalea, you may gloat if your read this ;P You lured me in, and you foretold that I was going to become addicted. I'm hereby offering you the position of Divination Teacher at Hogwarts. Watch that crystal ball! Constant vigilance!

After the extremely helpful comments I got on Orpheus 1, I re-edited the chapter. While taking my shower, it suddenly dawned on me that I'm unashamedly, impudently and pretentiously abusing my LJ friends as betas, while constantly claiming that I don't want a beta. Then again, I'm not going to do this with every chapter. (Cheap argument, I know) 2 and 3 will, I think, undergo the same procedure, just to make sure I'm not completely off-track. The problem being that it's been 1 1/2 years since I finished Pygmalion, and I'm pretty sure everybody else is more qualified to judge whether Orpheus is credible as a sequel. Of course it's going to be darker, but at least at the beginning there shouldn't be too much of a breach. Anyway, I really want to thank you all. Your comments, thoughts and suggestions mean a lot to me and will certainly make Orpheus a better story.
On a side note, hoping
mcamy reads this entry: dear
mcamy, I have never thanked you properly for the hints you gave me when I started writing Pygmalion. You pointed out certain flaws in the characterization, especially of Hermione. Hard as it was for me to accept criticism, even though constructive and not the least bit offensive, it made Pygmalion a lot better than it would have been without your suggestions. *Blows
mcamy a kiss*
It's raining today. Definitely autumn, finally. Autumn has always been (and, I suppose, will always be) my favourite season. Not only because I prefer being cold to being hot (it's just so much easier to warm up than to cool down) but because for me it's a season of new beginnings. Plus, it's Saturday morning, my favourite time of week. Plus, the promise of five days off next week. Yes, life looks definitely good.
