Yes, today is a grmph-y sort of day. Not very productive, leaving me with a sense of profound dissatisfaction. To do myself justice, it might be because of the weather. The temperature has jumped up to +10°, the Foehn is blowing, and while the morning was cloudless and bright, now there are heavy clouds and rain. You can almost watch the snow melting away--incredible, as there were about 50 cm of it on Friday.
I tried to call at the doctor's today, to make an appointment because of my seemingly chronical rhinitis. I detest going to the doctor, and calling is quite an achievement by my standards. Imagine my teeth-baring anger when there was only the answering machine, asking people who want to make appointments to call the doctor's cell phone, and when I called there, the voice box answered with a message wishing Happy Christmas. Grrrrrr.
Yes, I'm definitely cranky today, otherwise I wouldn't whine so much about relatively unimportant things. I'm invited for dinner tonight, with my mixed Austrian/Italian couple of friends. They're staying at her mother's place, and of course I ought to bring a little something. Flowers or potted plants out of the question, because there are cats and allergies (possibly also cats with allergies). Sweets forbidden because of glycaemia. Books won't be read. CDs impossible because tastes unknown. Wine (or anything stronger) not appreciated. So what on earth am I supposed to get? Waaaaah! And it's getting late. Waaaah!
OK, now that my crankiness has been made known to all and sundry, I'll probably get dressed and go buy something absolutely senseless.
