What...a...day *falls asleep*
Apr. 1st, 2004 08:34 pmBut very, very satisfying.
I gave my first lecture on immigration law today (for the newbies and those about to go abroad). Having grown so much older and wiser, I prepared really well for it, and it was worth the trouble, because I got lots of very, very flattering feedback.
I also had lots of work. Arrived at the office at 8.15 a.m., lecture from 9-11.15, then a brief meeting, and then back to the desk where I stayed until 5 p.m. without the possibility of a break. I felt guilty when I went to the loo because I couldn't answer the phone.
Anyway. It's been a good day so far.
Plus, there was another meeting yesterday, and one of the male participants proved to be highly interesting. Even better, he also seemed interested. My boss had promised to mail him a document, so I told boss I'd do it (he was very grateful--am very good, altruistic co-worker) and mailed it this morning. He's from the dept. of the Ministry of Interior I have to work with most frequently (they're extremely kind when it comes to helping out with information) and thus I also asked what exactly is his field of expertise, because I'd like to have another person there whom I can badger with questions. Not too transparent, but neither too subtle.
Hee.
When I returned from my lecture, I found his answer, thanking me for the document and... AAAAAND... informing me that he has no particular field of expertise but is more of a legal adviser to the department. He would, however, be happy to discuss this in more detail over coffee. Wheeee! So we meet on Tuesday afternoon.
Bloody hell, I feel as if I was 17. It's true what Freud said, the psyche knows no time.
