Jan. 14th, 2009 11:35 amIt seems that I really can't eat even the tiniest bit of deep-fried food anymore.
Yesterday, Gabriele and I spent the better part of the working day shopping and noting down prices, all for the Embassy of course. We bought two vacuum cleaners, one for the residence and one for the office, and we had to look up a lot of other things which can't be bought straight away; the purchase needs to be authorized by Vienna, and of course they need exact descriptions, prices etc.
At noon, we had lunch at an Asian restaurant. I ordered two different types of maki, one of which contained deep-fried prawn. There were only four pieces, but boy, did I live to regret my choice. It wasn't anything like fish poisoning, of course, or I wouldn't be sitting here typing, and none of the other ingredients could've caused those ghastly stomach troubles. It's that feeling of "Oh my god, it's still in my stomach ten hours after lunch". I didn't sleep well, and so I decided to call in sick, especially because I'd heroically stayed at work yesterday, in spite of feeling sick.
So now I'm enjoying the latest offerings at the sshg_exchange. The quality seems even higher than last time, which is saying something.
