(no subject)

A hearfelt Thank you!! to all of you who offered advice for my pesky iPod/stereo-of-doom/notebook problem.

I think I'm just going to buy an external CD drive, which solves the problem temporarily, and then a new notebook (yes, shiv5468 , you were right...) when in Austria, i.e. at the end of February. I won't get it tax-free there, which is irksome, but even the tax-free-est Turkish notebook presents the problem of the Turkish keyboard (I can't write blind), which can only be solved by buying and plugging on a German one, and that seems entirely too cumbersome.
Stereo-of-doom-related problem shall be solved in the fullness of time. I'm going to write to the producer today, and then let's see what happens. At worst, I'll have an entirely unecessary third mini-stereo. It is my deep-felt conviction that one can never have too many, albeit unnecessary, stereos.

HP/Jeeves crossover plot bunny is stirring and wriggling its long, fluffy ears.
I blushingly admit that - having grown up in Austria, where the series was never shown on TV and the books aren't part of the literary canon - Jeeves&Wooster is a very recent discovery, inspired by two yuletide fics recced on mctabby 's LJ. This means I probably don't know enough to write fanfic without gross canon erros. Anyway, wikipedia provides good basic material, and I'm half through the Jeeves omnibus part 1 and planning to acquire more. From what I read on wikipedia, I gathered that Wodehouse himself got sometimes muddled up in his own canon and timeline, so I suppose slight errors will be noted and consequently expounded upon only by the most merciless readers.

I'm currently trying to decide whether to get Jeeves into the Potterverse or Lucius into the Jeevesverse, with a strong inclination towards the latter. Much more fun, because Bertie and especially Aunt Agatha need to encounter Lucius.
And I'll have to think of some semblance of a plot, but that won't be too difficult.
As for writing it, I'll try and take my time, so as to post the opus magnum after both SSHG and LMHG exchanges are finished posting. There's no point in posting for an oversaturated audience, after all.
