On the plus side: Root canal treatment finished. Since no.3 is impenetrable -- too tight -- dentist said he'd just put a filling on the tooth ruin. A crown would be a) expensive and b) difficult to remove, should the 3rd root canal decide to play up. I must say, I appreciate that a lot. The filling is a lot cheaper than a crown, and I'm always pleasantly surprised when people (be they dentists, shop assistants or sommeliers) don't try to sell me the most expensive item, merely because they can.
Dental technology seems to have made progress in the last 13years. When I last visited a dentist, resin fillings hadn't yet been invented.
On the minus side: I had köfte for lunch, i.e. more or less meatballs. Grilled. They were heavily seasoned and are still talking to me. I had some Lady Grey tea laced with whisky when I got home, and then some undiluted whisky, and now it seems as if digestion is slowly setting in. Stomach still queasy though.
On the plus side: 2 amazon packages arrived today, containing Gaudy Night and Busman's Honeymoon (one) and the BBC DVD of Aristocrats pus a few other books (the other). I liked Arisocrats -- ordered Stella Tillyard's books after I'd seen bits of the series n BBC prime -- and am looking forward to watching the whole series. Ben Daniels in 18th century clothing is't bad. Not bad at all.
