4-day weeks are great! Stating the obvious again, but they bloody well *are*.

Enjoyment of Friday was briefly dampened by meeting with Ambassador (there were other participants as well, and it only lasted 15 minutes, though), but it's over, and now only 4,25 hours are standing between me and the weekend.

I actually bought sunglasses yesterday. And trousers, and a very, very nice top. And two A4 and one A5 sketch pads, and pencils. Mmmmmh!

I still can't quite believe my own carelessness: my notebook is about 5 years old now and in fine working order, but it would, nevertheless, be a good idea not to rely solely on its hard drive. There's a lot of pictures there, which would be irretrievably lost in case of a crash. And, even though there wouldn't be a problem with completed and posted fics, I wouldn't really like to lose, e.g., the fic I wrote for the Lumione exchange. So I finally called myself to order yesterday, acquired a USB stick and copied the contents of my hard drive onto it. *pats own shoulder* Well done!

Speaking of the exchange fic, [livejournal.com profile] shiv5468  dearest, do you think it's fit to be sent off?

[livejournal.com profile] morethansirius  gave me three nice guys from the Austen-verse: Mr. Knightley, Colonel Brandon and Colonel Fitzwilliam.

Not an easy choice...

Brandon:

I like Rickman as Brandon (the mere thought of "the air is full of spices" makes me melt).  But I don't like Brandon much as a character -- too self-effacing, too ready to give up, too passive-aggressive. Besides he served in the East Indies, and heaven only knows what tropical parasites, maladies etc. he brought home from there. So it's the cliff for you, dear Brandon. Sorry.

Fitzwilliam:

"about thirty, not handsome, but in person and address most truly the gentleman" -- that's Colonel Fitzwilliam. And he's a younger son, who'd marry me only for my money, of which I don't have enough to keep him in style. But he seems to be a very nice guy, so I'd shag him most willingly.

Knightley:

He seems to be the only one of the three who'd want a woman neither for her money nor in order to put her on a pedestal, and as a partner he is the most promising of the three: given that Emma is 16 (?) years his junior, his efforts at guiding her are remarkably few and discreet. Mr Knightley obviously wants more than a little woman, and besides he's got his own estate. Yes, Mr Knightley, that means I'm asking for your hand in marriage.
