Apr. 18th, 2009 06:51 pmI'm now able to read Bulgarian with nary a look at the alpahabet chart, and I did the first lesson today, feeling very silly while repeating after the CD. But I already know that I like it a *lot* more than Turkish.
After I'd done my duty, i.e. learning Bulgarian, I started on the picture that has been insistently popping up in my mind, i.e. a raven perched on a red leather boot. It's coming along nicely, and unless I completely botch it, I'm going to post it once it's finished.
Finished re-reading Pride and Prejudice yesterday, and started with Sense and Sensibility. The book -- Jane Austen omnibus, i.e. *brick* -- is a bit unwieldy, but Cornelius makes an excellent book support, if he happens to lie in my lap.

And, last but not least, it's a good thing that I haven't any plans involving human contact for this weekend, because there's finally new garlic available, and I bought lots of it. Yesterday, there was pasta with feta, tomatoes and garlic for dinner, and today I had guacamole (my very own variety, with lots of garlic) for lunch. I'll have to stop the garlic orgy before dinner tomorrow, so there won't be any lingering aromatic traces on Monday. I heard that Ankara was being mentioned in the Transylvanian Aeronautic Forecast as an area to be strictly avoided by long-distance-flying vampires...
