I can haz DVDs and photos of flats

The mega-order from amazon arrived today, and I think I'll have to go on sick leave for most of next week... *dreams* All of Sex and the City, and the first 3 seasons of Dr Who, to name but a few. Not that I'm ever bored, but there certainly won't be any danger of that during the next few days.

I finally managed to look at the photos the estate agency sent from Skopje. OMG there are some bloody gorgeous apartments there! One especially caught my fancy, but not only is it too big (i.e. I would have to pay part of the rent myself), but the much bigger disadvantage is that it hasn't got individual heating. It's connected to the municipal heating system, and I'm afraid I won't put up with that. But there are a few others, brand new (they took the photos when the parquet floors were still covered in paper and the wires snaking out of the ceiling) with kitchens I'd kill for. Ooooh, I'm so excited! There also is half a house, i.e. an apartment on two levels. I like that a lot, and I'm sure ze boyz would love to have stairs. *wibbles* Well, I'll be there in 4 weeks' time, and I've already obtained permission from the ministry to withdraw a maximum of  €10.000 (I need the sum in Euros and therefore have to withdraw via the Embassy's Euro account and transfer the money back to the Ministry from my bank account in Austria) so I'll be able to pay the agent's fee, safety deposit and a few months' rent in advance. Normally I'd do that by bank transfer, but the business will be concluded on a weekend, and bank transfer by internet isn't possible to a non-Euro country. So it'll have to be cash, which I'll be carrying very, very close to my body. 8.000 will be enough, because I won't take any flat that costs more than 1200 a month -- 3 months' rent in advance, and the agent's fee and safety deposit are usually ne rent each, so it shouldn't be more than 6000, but it's always prudent to have a bit more.
