Skopje, finally

I arrived yesterday in Skopje, and my air freight was delivered at the very same moment the embassy car -- which the Ambassador had very kindly sent to the airport -- drove up to the house.
The evening (I'd opened the door to my flat at exactly 5 p.m.) was spent alternately unpacking and dealing with two very stressed boyz, who had a severe drug hangover. Due to the sleeping pills, they'd been rather quiet during the flight, but then they staggered through their new territory in a state of druggedness mixed with alarmed curiosity. Poor, poor boyz. However, today they're their usual selves and keep exploring the surroundings.
The landlord has done everything he'd promised, including first-rate cat protection for the balconies and internet. So ze boyz are roaming in- and outside and have already discovered that one can jump through open windows onto the balcony.
There was a violent storm last night (another one is brewing right now), and so the night was wonderfully cool. It's totally quiet up here, with only the noise of birds and crickets.
Today I cleaned the whole flat thoroughly and then, after a hasty shower, went to the Embassy (started on foot but took taxi whenI felt I was overheating) to meet the Ambassador.
He seems to be a really nice person and easy to get on with. Met the rest of the staff as well, and tomorrow one of the two Austrian colleagues is going to take me shopping with his mini van -- I need some small cupboards or shelves for the bathrooms, because right now everything is being temporarily stored in the bidet. Not a permanent solution.
Apart from sore muscles (ze boyz plus carrier weigh 12 kg) I'm also very tired, so maybe there will be a short siesta now. Yes, I think there will. *yawns*
