One of the guys from the Minister's cabinet called boss yesterday, merely to express his and the Minister's appreciation of how well the visit had gone. o_O That obviously means we really did well.
Boss told me and said that I'd been explicitly mentioned. I said, "Well, that's not necessarily a good thing. What did he say? Did he say, it was great, bt that deputy of yours really is a pain in the neck?" Fishing for compliments, I know. And of course he'd mentioned me in a positive context. *preens*

There will be a Viennese Ball on 6 March. I used to hate, hate, hate balls. But I'm looking forward to this one. Going to start dancing lessons next week (private, so as to be more effective), and, also next week, an acquaintance will take me to her tailor -- I have a very clear image in my head of what I want, so I'll go there with a few sketches. They have tables for 10 at the ball, and I plan on inviting a few really nice people. The ball is something like the society event of the year, so the invitations will be much appreciated. Among others, I'll ask the chief of protocol from the Foreign Ministry; that's an appropriate Thank you! for the excellent cooperation in preparing the Minister's visit.

Yesterday I finally found out what's causing me this persistent pain in my right forearm when I'm playing tennis. (It's not traditional "tennis arm", that much I knew already) Valentina, my teacher, suddenly said, "You're not bending your wrist during the back swing, are you?" Well I was, and that explains why this muscle hurt so much and felt overstretched. For now, I'm just going to bandage the wrist -- it's impossible always to think "Don't bend that wrist" while playing -- and Janine promised to send me this special, erm, thing, which is normally used by people with carpal tunnel syndrome and prevents you from moving the wrist too far back or forth. I'm very glad I finally identified the problem, because that pain was really beginning to annoy me.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] gypaetus : think of my boss's last name, and of the Viennese term "Wickel" for "trouble", and you'll really appreciate this icon ;-))  (Not that it's needed at the moment, thank God)
