Webbed feet
Apr. 19th, 2010 06:57 am... that's what I'm going to get, if it continues to rain like this. Saturday and Sunday were better, thank heaven, and there was tennis. On Saturday, there was also gym -- hadn't gone on Friday, after all -- and the weekend was a good one.
I studied Macedonian like a mad studying thing. So many words to get into my poor head! Since we've been reading newspaper articles, I've switched method: I translate the texts into German, and then retranslate them back into Macedonian. Was pleasantly surprised to see that it helps. And Irene and I had our now-traditional two hours of vocabulary torture yesterday morning, which has proved quite useful, too.
Yesterday, after we'd played tennis -- together, for the first time, with Valentina -- we went to do the shopping, and in the afternoon I made curry for tomorrow's team meeting. And I added to and tweaked my iPod playlist, so that I now have one list for running, starting at 7,6 km/h and going up to 9,5, duration about 43 minutes. Will try it out today at gym.
Speaking of curry: Daniel, the lovely nephew, gave me a mortar and pestle when I was in Vienna, and so this was the first curry I prepared with freshly ground spices. The difference is amazing.
That's it, folks. Today I'm going to wait for Slavica for coffee and a chat, which means I'll be arriving slightly late at work. Should be a fairly quiet Monday. (Famous last words, I know).
A good week to you all!
