I might be a freak after all

Because I'm feeling neither tired or grumpy after a night that went like this: fell asleep on couch some time between 10 and 10.30, woke up at 2.30, went to bed, couldn't sleep. Got up at 3.15, watched TV till 4, went back to bed and couldn't sleep. Got up 5.30. o_O Strange. But not unwelcome -- the lack of tiredness, I mean -- given that I have to work.

For next weekend I was planning to go to Greece with a few friends from other embassies, but that's going to fall through, because I was stupid enough to agree to hold a 1,5 hour lecture on Monday at the university, about Vienna and the fin de siècle. I know a lot about that period, but certainly not enough to go uprepared, and I won't have time to prepare anything this week. Never mind, it wasn't going to be a trip to the sea, so I'm not too unhappy.

It's still raining, but the weatherforecast is adamant on showing the sun icon for tomorrow. Optimist that I am, I prefer to believe and be happy.
