Well, I survived this one
May. 11th, 2010 05:56 amNot that I was in any doubt re the surviveability of this stinking summer virus, but it's funny, really, how the body manages to forget, again and again, how shitty it feels when having a fever. The mind knows and remembers that it was lousy, but that's different. Anyway, Sunday was bad, with temperature always hovering between 37,5 and 38, and it stayed at 37,1 or 2 almost the whole night. So I stayed home yesterday, because I was feeling rather wrung-out. Better now, but my body is still producing large amounts of gunk, mostly for it to want out when I've just fallen into a light doze. But I slept ok till about 4.30.
Boss was being very nice about it all and postponed his holiday by one day.
So today it's back to the treadmill.
Janine arrives tomorrow, unless the volcano acts up again, and on Thursday we'll go to Ohrid, till Saturday. Can't work up much enthusiasm right now, but that's probably due to abovementioned gunk. The change of air should help with that problem, though.
At least I didn't lose my sense of smell and taste this time.
And what did boss say, when he called me yesterday to inquire how I was feeling? "You'd do anything so you didn't have to show up at that marathon, wouldn't you?" I told him I'd expected him to say exactly that, and that he was pathetically predictable.
