Not the most interesting of posts
Jul. 20th, 2010 08:45 amBut I simply wanted to use this icon, even though I'm neither making puppy eyes at anybody (wouldn't work anyway) nor is anybody making them at me (wouldn't work either).
It seems I'm getting more and more Balkan-ized or Macedonized. This morning, reading through the f-list, I misread "ribbed scarf" for "bribed scarf". Ribbed and bribed are anagrams, but I'm slightly worried anyway.
I ought to have bought my allergy medication on Saturday. Since I didn't go out I didn't buy it, and on Sunday it was too early, and given the heat I didn't want to leave the a/c'd flat merely to get the pills. Besides I was curious to see how I'd get by without. It's not abysmally bad, but I'll be glad to get them today (Blerim the driver has to run a few errands, so he'll get them for me). Nose is a bit runny, eyes and skin slightly itchy.
This may also be due to ze boyz having rediscovered brushing. Every morning Cornelius thunders past me when I'm on my way to the bathroom and already sits in the tub, wailing and peremptorily demanding to be brushed. Unsurprisingly so, because ze boyz seem to be stripping off the thermal underwear -- you wouldn't believe the amounts of wool that come out every day, especially from Cornelius' coat. He's got incredibly thick fur for a Siamese. Lucius less so, and he doesn't demand but sits nearby looking dignified, waiting for the Mother Goddess to lift him into the tub. Being the beta male does seem to have at least certain advantages.
Do you know what I mean when I say that sometimes you see people who seem to have been put together using the spare parts of at least three other people? There's this woman at the gym, who I simply can't get tired of looking at -- covertly, because we wouldn't want to create any wrong impressions, now would we -- because she just looks *wrong*. Very tall, at least 1,80, very small head, incredibly long neck. Shoulders unbelievably narrow, back ditto (I think I could span her back with one hand). Strangely elongated waist with a totally incongruous pair of love handles -- otherwise she's extremely slim. Compared to back and shoulders the hips are rather broad, legs relatively short. Short arms too, and she's got Popeye arms. I think the girth of her upper arms isn't much less than my thighs, well not a lot less any way, and it's all muscle. Like with many tall people, her upper back is a bit hunched, and the inward curve of the lower back is more than usually pronounced. I wonder what she'd look like dressed up as a snake. Pretty good, I suppose, except for the arms.
Oh, and since I mentioned the gym: I *do* have trouble not snickering when watching The Pretty Girlz (faux-blondes, surgically enhanced tits) while they exercise, because after every series they get up to examine themselves intently in the mirror, feeling their bums and abs. It's more than slightly funny.
OK, enough bitching for now.
