Yesterday after work I had another dancing lesson with Dan, the Society Slave. Still working on Salsa, because Vicky, the dancing instructor, very reasonably insists that you have to practice the basics until you get blue in the face, in order to be able to dance it really well.
I love Salsa, and I think that with a more appropriate partner it makes for fantastic foreplay. Vicky says that I'm very talented, which I somehow doubt, but at least you can't say about me what Pratchett/Gaiman said about Aziraphale, i.e. that he took to dancing like a duck to merchant banking.
I've decided to purchase dancing shoes. Like with tennis, I wanted to wait a bit so I could make up my mind as to whether I really liked dancing or not, but I'm sure now that I'm going to keep this up, and therefore the appropriate shoes surely are a reasonable investment. Can't get them here, i.e. I'll have to wait till I go to Vienna. Not before the beginning of November, and till then I'll have to make do with "normal" shoes.
Next lesson will take place next Saturday.

Zen is a state of mind difficult to obtain, if 1) you're not a zen kind of person in the first place, and 2) if the first thing you see when you open a newspaper is Mr-bloody-H. I'm just glad I don't have Macedonian TV, or else he'd be intruding into my living room every other evening during the news (which would be a great thing if he did so in person; on TV, however, it would merely further disturb my peace of mind).
OTOH, knowing that he's being Very Busy and Important right now also helps with the zen, also because he wrote me a text message yesterday, informing me that he'd called me on Wednesday just to say hello and would call again.
Not exactly progress, but better than nothing.

It seems that I currently don't need more than 6 hrs sleep, which is basically ok, but I have to get out of the "Fall asleep at 10 p.m. and wake up at 4 a.m." circle. It's not a vicious circle as such, but at this time of year it's still pitch dark at 4 a.m., and I don't like getting up while it's still dark. So I hope I'll be able to squeeze in a bit of a siesta tomorrow and on Sunday, so as to go to bed around 11 p.m. and wake up at 5. That would be nice.

One last, random observation/question: Do you have a perfume/scent which virtually makes you fall in love with yourself when you're wearing it? I very rarely find such a perfume, and usually they stop producing it after 2 or 3 years, so I have to set out on a new quest. My current OMG-I'm-smelling-so-heavenly scent is Un Jardin sur le Nil by Hermès. *sniffs crook of arm*
