I'm up early again, but fell asleep yesterday around 8.30, so I got 8 hrs sleep and am feeling rested. During the usual getting-up-from-the-couch-cleaning-teeth-and-going-to-bed interval, somewhere around 11 p.m., it suddenly occurred to me that shouting at people, being paranoid, moody and brooding doesn't necessarily mean Mr H is Ron. I almost snorted mouthwash through my nose (fortunately only almost, because that would've been painful) at the thought that those qualities are more Snape-like than Ron-like. *ducks flying tomatoes*
The zen is still intact, squee-age notwithstanding. The good thing is that I can simply ask Carla on which evenings Mr H is free and don't have to try at random. It's cheating, but I'm not above a bit of cheating, especially for a good cause. Lunch with the lovely Greek will take place next Thursday -- he was away all of last week and is very busy this week -- but since Mr H will be in Vienna on that day, that's actually a good thing, because Carla won't have to run back to work.
Janine is coming on Friday and staying till next Wednesday, i.e she'll be here for our National Day reception and going to Vienna on the same flight as Mr H.
Skype conversation:
Janine: But what if he's sitting next to me?
Me: You'll kindly keep your hands to yourself and generally be a good girl.
J: Yes, but what should I *say*?
Me: Erm, well, nothing?
J: But maybe you'll introduce us at the reception!
Me: Well, if that happens, I'm sure you'll just exchange a few polite words, and that'll be the end of it.
J: No way! I'll talk about you.
Me, horrified: Noooo! Please don't, please! You'll fuck it up, I know!
J: I'll tell him that most men are terrified of you...
Me: Noooooooo!
J, unperturbed: But that they're all morons, because you're really wonderful and sweet and caring.
Me: OMGOMGOMG!!!!
J: And that he ought to ask your boss about you and your wonderfulness.
Me: Janine, please, promise that you'll just keep your trap shut, please!
I'm sure now that the back aches are just muscular, nothig to do with the spine. 1) Exercising carefully while wearing one of those big sticking plasters with capsicum extract helps, and 2) when I'm lying on my right side and makeing a certain movement, the muscle cramps up and the pain returns. I suppose it's related to my right hip being 5mm higher than the left, which means that the lower back muscles on the right side are always slightly contracted. It's much better now, and I'll do some serious stretching today after tennis.
I've taken this afternoon off work, so I can go to have my hair dyed and cut, and after that tennis with Valentina. And tonight I'll have a girls' night out with Eeps, whom I haven't seen in a ridiculously long time. Time to get together and catch up, really.
The boss is having trouble with his right knee -- must be bad, because he's going to see a doctor today. I must say, I'd be very grateful if the knee prevented him from running the Athens marathon on 31 October, because he hasn't been training enough, and I'm seriously worried he might do his heart some harm. I know he'd be terribly disappointed if he can't go, but it would be better for him, seriously. He told me yesterday that he might be taking a few tennis lessons with one of my girls, and I heartily encouraged him. I'd really love to play with him and Mr H -- tennis with the two gorgeous, blue-eyed boys would have some serious fun potential -- even though I'm a bit worried the male ego might suffer. Because the way Mr H plays... he sure has a lot of pent-up energy to get rid of, although I could think of better ways to do that. *leers* Imagine that on Sunday he told me, jokingly of course, to watch my mouth when I was swearing rather horribly after making a double mistake and losing us a point. I pointed out that swearing in Spanish didn't make his mouth much less dirty than my English-Italian mix did mine, so I didn't quite see why he was admonishing me, but would be happy to add a few Spanish expletives to my vocabulary.
Time now to fulfill my mother-goddess duties towards my very own blue-eyed boyz.
