Long weekend, day 2
Nov. 1st, 2010 07:04 amOf course I'd forgotten that daylight saving time ended yesterday, but fortunately my friend the laptop knew it anyway, and so I didn't show up one hour early for tennis. The whole one-hour-earlier things still feels weird, though, because I rarely look at my watch and usually can tell the time rather accurately just by the quality of the light.
Only one hour of tennis yesterday, and good intentions re. pedicure went the way of all good intentions, i.e. my path towards hell now sports another shiny pavestone. Will do it now, though. Feet are disgusting.
Did a tiny little bit of grocery shopping yesterday after tennis, went home, had a sandwich (white bread, Jamie Oliver's chilli and garlic pesto, cheese, chicken -- YUM!!) and slept 2hrs on the couch.
Then lunch/dinner with friends, and when I came home I felt the irresistible urge to watch Lord of the Rings. Slept through most of the first movie but watched the second from beginning to end and went to bed at 2 a.m. Woke up at 6.
The plan for today: tennis at 10 (1,5 hrs), then to the gym, then home for shower, then late lunch with Stefan. Maybe LotR Part 3 in the evening.
Very, very curious re. next Saturday's dinner. Since we got the information that Mr H would be away till the 7th, I changed strategy and disinvited the opera director (well I told him the dinner was going to take place some other day) and instead invited another couple of friends. The He of he couple works for [...] and told me yesterday that "The Monster will be back on Monday", i.e. today. Plus, the He won't be here next Saturday, so only his wife can come to the dinner. This means that, should the unlikely happen and Mr H remember the invitation, I really will have to tell him sorry, but I thought you wouldn't be here and invited somebody else, because he and the wife at the same table wouldn't be a good idea. Not after her having to listen every day to horror stories about Mr H and coping with her husband's H-induced bad moods. *snickers* Well, serves him right, I'd say.
OK, and now I'll really do those feet.
